Bringing the flag and name of the Florida region, the Panthers is a renowned professional ice hockey group living in the Miami metropolitan region. Situated in Sunrise, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale, they are the southernmost group in the NHL.
The professional hockey team first encountered their home games at Miami Arena prior to transferring to the BB&T Center in 1998. The team participated in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member team from the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
The team got its name from the extinct Florida panthers. Empowering the characteristics of their animal logo, the team is initially competitive for their first two winning streak playoff seasons. The team started playing in the 1993–94 NHL season. In 1996, the team had shown up in the Stanley Cup Finals which only ended losing the Finals to the Colorado Avalanche.
The hockey team next competed for the play-off games in 1999–2000 but again lost some of the opening games. And in between the season of 2000-01 and 2010-11, seeing the team in the third and fifth positions for its division had been a challenge for the whole group.
And in season 2011–12, the professional hockey team bounced back to catch the principal division title in establishment history, despite having greatly lost to New Jersey Devils. In addition to that, the team garnered the least scoring record in the National Hockey League after that lock-out shortened season.
The team tried to bounce back for another title division in the 2015-16 season but unfortunately was eliminated immediately in the first round of the season’s opening games. Yet there was a brief improvement, but the group, in this manner, got back to posting mediocre records and accomplishing outside of playoff specifications.
