The sixth-largest city in the state, it is situated in Miami-Dade County in southeast Florida, United States. It encompasses 20 square miles. The city is 20 minutes northwest of Miami, 25 minutes northwest of Miami Beach, and 25 minutes north of Coral Gables.

The city’s residents have easy access to major land, water, and air transportations. The Opa-Locka and Miami International Airports, the Port of Miami, and the Amtrak, Tri-Rail, and Metro-Rail stations are all located within the city.
