This town is situated in Palm Beach, FL, on the seashores of the Intracoastal stream. It is just a few minutes from West Palm Beach and essentially, a short distance from the sandy Atlantic shores. And furthermore known as the home of the "Shoeless Mailman".

The lake was later renamed in recognition of Seminole Indian War colonel William Jerkins Worth. But, the name "Hypoluxo" is still associated with the area on the south beaches of the lake, as exhibited by its appearance on an 1841 War Department map.
